What Affects The Shadow Of Your Product

Creating a realistic and professional shadow for your product can make it look more appealing and attract your customers. A natural-looking shadow can affect the sales of your product directly. Before adding a shadow behind your object, you need to know what to consider and how to do that. Here are some factors that affect your product’s shadow type.

Light Source

The color and darkness of your shadow depends on the light source. the picture comes completely different under halozen light compared to sunlight. If you take your picture at dawn, it will add an orange hue in the shadow. On the other hand, in the night time, the blue hue will be stronger.

Direction Of The Light

The direction of the shadow also depends on the position of your light source. If the light source is on the upper right corner, the shadow will be tilted towards the lower left side. You can determine where to place your shadow depending on which side is brighter and how the light is affecting your object.

Distance

The more the distance between the light source and the object, the less bright it becomes. Thus the shadow becomes longer and darker. The gap between the objects also determines how the shadow will change.

Number Of Light Sources

If you have a single light source with a bright light the shadow will appear sharper than having multiple light sources. With multiple light sources, your shadow will become hazy and a little bit distorted. Using multiple light sources you can also exchange the bright area and reduce the depth of the shadow.

The Brightness Of Your Light

The brighter your light source, the sharper your shadow will become. If you take a picture under the moonlight, the shadow will be almost invisible. But under the bright summer sun, you will have a sharper and stronger shadow. The same goes for artificial lights also. A focused strong light will make your shadow darker.

Conclusion :

There are some other minor factors that also affect your object’s shadow depending on the situation and image type. To understand which type of shadow you should add, you need to focus on the image and study it thoroughly. That way you will be able to create a natural-looking shadow.
