Removing background can be used for various purposes. Here are the steps that you can follow to remove the background from any picture.
Take A Clear Picture
While you are thinking about background removal, it is better to have a clear picture. A hazy image will make your work difficult and increase the possibility of missing out any details of your object. Take the picture under a bright light. If you are not confident in keeping your hands steady, you can use a tripod to prevent the shaking of your camera. If the background color and the object color are not similar it will be easier to remove the background.
Create A Mask
Create a layer mask. Masking will help you to understand where you are selecting or drawing a stroke and identify the area you want to remove. After creating a mask, you will notice a canvas appearing beside the layer. That is your layer mask. Whatever you draw will be visible on that layer mask.
Outline Your Object
Choose a medium or small-sized soft brush and outline your object. Using a soft brush will help you to create a blending effect. Try to outline the object as accurately as possible. If needed, zoom in on the photo.
Select The Object
Now, select the area you have outlined using a lasso tool or selection tool. Try to make the selection on the outline you have just created. It will select your object and separate it from the surrounding.
Inverse Select
Now, go to the selection option and click on the inverse selection. It will select all the area except your main object.
Delete The Background
As you have already selected the background of your image, you can delete the selected area by clicking on the delete key or fill the area with a solid color.
Removing the background from your image makes it easier to use the image on different backgrounds and sizes down the image without damaging the quality. It is even more useful for professionals to create banners, posters, or ad copies.
